A Cluster established in Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur
The Culture and Heritage Industries Cluster (Pôle Industries Culturelles et Patrimoines) gather industrial actors, from the research labs and teaching centers involved in the cultural leisure business unit, to heritage management and create partnership's projects gathering those actors.
The Cluster wants to favours the development of innovating products and services, responding to concrete needs from territories involved in actions and projects intending to improve the status of their heritage and cultures.
An original idea : only Cluster in Europe focused on Culture and Heritage
The Cluster offers to his members animation and structuring actions of heritage and cultural area, but also an accompaniment in the conception of innovating projects with an industrial character, likely to respond to Research and Development project issued from the European Union, the State or the Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
The Culture and Heritage Industries Cluster has been approved PRIDES (Pôle Régional d'Innovation et de Développement Economique Solidaire), the 30 march 2007.
Goals :
Become the leading partner for any regional groups who are committed to promoting their culture and heritage, but also :
Sustain the industry's 60,000 jobs and contribute to the creation of at least 2,500 more by 2012
Develop members' activities, offer them support and international visibility for the export market
Ensure cooperation among players to increase product competitiveness and boost travel to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region
Positioning
Cultural and Building heritage
Activities of restoration, preservation, conservation, reconstitution of work of art and monuments.
Example : Projects NeoPOZZOL
Creation of a new range of binders and mortars for restoring old buildings. These products are 100% neutral and therefore allow restorers to better take into consideration the building's specificities.
Natural Heritage
Stop the deterioration of protected natural sites and their ecosystems. Implement them in a global and durable management which do not fail to measure their contribution and value to the region.
Example : Project VIGIE
Development of a tool capable of simulating planned or unplanned change in landscapes based on a time scale.
Engineering and diffusion of culture.
Promote numeric technology and resort to industrial production process for the diffusion of culture.
Example : Interactive gestion of localised clients
Definition, modelling and test of protocols, architectures, algorithms of compression and configurations to ensure a cultural calling diffusion on completely heterogeneous reception platform.
