Plastering on masonry - lime and materials |
Lime was, as binder, the basis of traditional
construction.
It was used also for a whole range of finishing, plastering,
washes, and painting. Lime is a malleable mineral matter that
can be applied, mixed with various aggregates, to plaster interior
and
exterior walls and to point masonry joints, or, diluted in water
to various consistencies, for various decorative painting techniques.
Lime
materials can be colored by the use of local sands or by the
addition of colored pigments. |
