Ironworking : heritage repair workshop
 
This course is designed for ironworkers and locksmiths, and is limited to a dozen participants. Its goal is to investigate the methods of intervention in situ on worn or damaged pieces, and thus to avoid the dismounting and transport of handrails, railings, etc.

Conceived as a practical on-site workshop, the course also covers technical and stylistic aspects:
- type of ironwork, diagnostic of grafting or replacement,
- techniques and materials of riveting,
- inventory and recognition-key of forms and eras.

The on-site workshop also includes:
- drawing of missing parts,
- grafting, riveting, straight halving, skew notch,

Demonstrations of:
- compaction of old iron pieces and handrails, swaging
- forge welding.
