Faux, studdo and sgraffito,
the play of transparencies

Lime stucco (as explained in Lime stucco) produces surprising decorative effects, with the mere superposition of several layers of different colors, whether they are etched or scarified.

This technique, known as sgraffito, comes to us from the Spanish and Italians who have used it to ornament the facades of Florence, Barcelona, as well as those of Prague and Brussels.

This ancestral knowledge presents, in several well-crafted methods, the decorative techniques of sgraffito, those of faux, the fundamental bases of "fresh on fresh" and the use of lime stucco.
