Lime stucco

This present-day technique is still commonly used in Italy and Catalonia - it allows you to obtain an effect similar to that of the Taddelakts, which are so highly prized in decoration. .

As resistant in interiors as in exteriors, it is made by mixing lime with a fine powder.
The fresh plaster obtained by this method is tinted with pigments or oxides, and it applied in successive layers.

The number and force of pressure of these applications determine the appearance of the final product.

A theoretical knowledge of its uses and its practical applications will allow you to master different possible effects, from stucco to lime.

Program
The practical use of lime differs here from those of the two preceding courses by the proportions of the mortar and the particular techniques of its use.

You will learn, in addition to the choice of aggregates - always finely ground - how to color them (oxides or pigments), and especially to master the technique of successive layering of "fresh on fresh," and to obtain different results: catalan stucco in two or three layers, marmorino in three smoothed layers with the, and spatula-applied stucco with three to six layers, as well as the desired finishes, smooth or glazed.
