techniques to discover
Today, many property owners wish to restore the charm and liveliness of lime plastering on their façades or interiors.
Materials, methods, properties, and techniques will all be presented to you at first, leaving the large part of the course to allow you to put your newfound knowledge to use on a practice wall.
Finishes of exterior plastering, the execution of whitewashes - from limewashing to patinas - will be the basis for the samplings of plastering, colors, and simple decoration in trompe l'oeil.

Program
A theoretical course recalls the principal binding agents, aggregates, and pigments used. Then comes the implementation of plastering: function, role, proportions, application, finish, and finally the use of the whitewash: mixture, additives, coloring, dry or fresco application. with a study of the dilution and the effects of coloring: washes, etching and patinas.
These techniques are put to use on site, on a practice wall: you will do whitewashes (simple decors and trompe l'oeil), lime plastering (smoothed finish, troweled finish, tints with aggregates, binding agents and pigments), as well as a sampling of pigments compatible with lime.
