Faux marbre (marbling),
a timeless decoration

Imitating marble: what could be simpler and more spectacular?

Our ancestors appreciated this technique, and they practiced it with a great liberty of interpretation. Very much in vogue today because of its ornamental qualities, it offers a wide range of application in public construction as well as in interior decoration.

To understand it, we must observe how this practice
has evolved through the ages, from the archaic and simplified faux marbres
of the Middle Ages to erudite and illusionist faux marbres of the 19th century.

From the course material that we offer, the painter will learn to observe, analyze, and differentiate between the various techniques that are used, as well as to master the gestures and the tools that will allow him to make designs worthy of commission.
