Architectural trompe l’oeil is a point of excellence for
learning decorative painting. It encompasses all architectural
elements: columns, pilasters, arches, balustrades, ceilings open
to the sky.
Commonly used since the 15th century in the Palaces
and Churches of Europe, it is a technique which the professional
decorative painter should be able to offer, since it provides
the possibility of opening up interior space and modifying structures
by the use of images.
